The theme of our Christmas dinner was a Colonial Williamsburg Christmas. We chose this theme to remind us of the beauty and simplicity of Christmas. We live in busy times but we can choose to simply our lives this holiday season.
We wanted to give each sister a handmade beeswax ornaments. They are made from a replica of a German cookie mold dating back to the 1600-1700's. The pattern is called "The Tree of Life". It is a testament of the goodness and perfect love of God the Father. A reminder that "salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent" (Mosiah 3:18). In each ornament you will see slight imperfections. Like us we all have things that we need to improve on and through the Lord Jesus Christ we can purify ourselves, just like this beeswax was purified.
If you look at the ornament it is beautiful by itself...but hold it next to a light or hang it in a window and the pattern will become even more detailed. Like us if we let the light of Christ shine through us we are even more beautiful.
We pray you will have a Christmas full of love.
With love,
Farmington 2nd Relief Society.
